Ni as the active component of the catalyst and alumina as the catalyst carrier.
Application and process:
Cyclohexanol is an intermediate in the manufacture of nylon, used in the manufacture of initiators, plasticizers, leather degreasing agents, dry cleaning agents, etc. The methods of producing cyclohexanol include phenol hydrogenation, cyclohexane oxidation, etc., of which the latter is more rapidly developed. Since there are substituted hydroxyl groups on the benzene ring, the hydrogenation of phenol is easier, the reaction is smoother and the purity of the product is higher. It is used as a catalyst for the hydrogenation of phenol to cyclohexanol. This catalyst is a non-precious metal nickel-based catalyst, and the product is divided into two forms: oxidation state and pre-reduction state. The catalyst is non-flammable and non-explosive before reduction, but after reduction, the catalyst, without passivation, will produce spontaneous combustion when it comes into contact with air or other oxygen containing gases. The catalyst load of phenol is 100-200 kg/(m3- h) at 130~150℃, atmospheric pressure ~0.2MPa, and hydrogen/phenol (molar ratio) of 20~60.
Brief preparation method:
Firstly, the nickel nitrate solution is neutralized with sodium meta-aluminate solution, then the resulting precipitate is washed, dried and shaped to produce the oxidized state product, and then the pre-reduced state product is produced by the reduction and passivation process.
