The order of addition of catalyst components has a certain effect on the anti-carbon-accumulation performance of catalysts. According to the effect of the addition of rare earth metal oxides on the anti-carbon-accumulation performance of Ni/Al₂O₃-CaO catalysts for the methane water vapour reforming reaction, the best effect was achieved by adding rare earths first and then Ni. The effect of the addition process of Ni/Pt catalysts on the anti-carbon-accumulation performance of the catalysts was as follows: the catalysts with Pt immersed first showed the best anti-carbon-accumulation performance. The Pt-impregnated catalyst had the best anti-carbon accumulation performance, while the Pt-impregnated catalyst had a slightly worse performance. This is due to the fact that the surface of the Pt-impregnated catalysts is covered with a layer of noble metal which has good anti-carbon deposits.
